Warwickshire's Best Pub and Bar
Legend has it that when the Warwick section of The Grand Union Canal was being built in the early 1800s the Tavern on Crompton Street was charging a mere four pennies for a cup of coffee and a tot of rum. Other inns were charging an “outrageous” six pennies! Hence, The Fourpenny Shop. This popular pub is located only a few minutes from the centre, Warwick Castle and Warwick Racecourse and is a Georgian building dating back to the early 19th century.
The pub has a great friendly atmosphere with a local feel and is a single, split-level room, enhanced by the absence of machines and loud music, so a lovely place to relax and chat with friends. Sometimes there are organised events for example, live music, folk players jamming session, fashion shows etc. There is also outside section with tables in the back of the pub where you can have fun in the sun and top up on your tan when the weather is good
It has had a few other names over its lifetime; The Paul Pry, The Warwick Tavern and The Old Fourpenny Shop.
At The Fourpenny Pub you will find six ever-changing real ales, ranging from blonde beer, IPA to darker Porter Ales, craft lagers, ciders, spirits and selection of fine wines from around the world.
The Fourpenny Pub is a great place to enjoy gorgeous grub and grog!! We believe it is perfect place to enjoy a drink and a spot of lunch with friends and family, or an after-work drink with colleagues, this pub has it all and we know it will go beyond your initial expectations and have you coming back for more.
